Samsung says more than 300 million mobile phones in 2011 on sale-Reuters

Seoul (Reuters)-Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. said on Sunday its annual mobile phone sales this year for the first time in the history of the company in excess of 300 units.


Volume is the second largest in the world by the phone manufacturer's sales record broken by the end of last month, it said in a statement.


In the mobile phone sales were approximately 2.8 million in 2010.


"We expect to extend this success to 2012," JK Shin, President and head of Samsung's mobile communications business was quoted as saying.


Samsung Galaxy S Smartphone series of flagship company-Galaxy II-S and Galaxy S significant contribution to the result.


Starting in April, the 10 million unit sales to S II, Samsung created a new sales set a record.
