Use VPN to keep mobile devices protected in wi-fi free zone

Have you consider yourself protected and secured every time you access the internet in Wi-Fi free zone?

To keep yourself protected 'Use VPN to keep mobile devices protected in wi-fi free zone'

More and more individuals are using mobile devices and countless of us are obtaining this mobile gadgets for a cheaper price and we're attempted and tend to use internet or obliged to use online connections.

And most of us doesn't know the risk of being exposed when we are online (Did you get the feelings that you were being watched?)

Sometimes hackers will set up a fake Wi-Fi network to attract unwitting public Wi-Fi users. Connecting to a fake network could put your device into the hands of a malicious ne’er-do-well.

By default, our smartphones, ipads, tablets or any wi-fi ready or wi-fi enable devices set into Off in wireless network connections, but this isn’t always the case, and it’s a setting you should always double-check. First, open the Wi-Fi section of your phone’s settings app. If you don’t see an option to disable auto-connecting, you’re already safe.

Otherwise, turn this setting off or disable.

Smartphone or any devices that has a wi-fi may be set to automatic connect to any available Wi-Fi hotspot, a setting that can seriously endanger your privacy. Not only will this allow your device to connect to public networks without your permission, you may also be automatically connecting to malicious networks set up specifically to steal your information.

But, If you had just read the U.S. Federal Trade Commission "Wise Up About Wi-Fi Page" offers tips for the safety of using the public Wi-Fi. One of it's tips is to look for "https:" in the header address and the lock icon in the address bar.

Another recommendation is to use a VPN (Virtual Private Network) that create's a secure line tunnel that will protect all your data sent over into the connections. VPN is a service that encrypts and redirects all the internet connections on your computer. This means all the data leaving your computer is encrypted, which adds a layer of protection against hackers and eavesdroppers.

This very important to keep our-self from being safe whenever we use a Wi-Fi to access a free or paid internet.

VPN it differs from web proxies because VPN will encrypt and redirect all of your computer’s outgoing network connections, whereas proxies will usually only redirect particular protocols within an application.

But of course there is an Advantages and Disadvantages in using VPN.

Advantage:

Keep you safe from being online (privacy insured)

Disadvantage:

Little bit of hassle (time consuming) and may slow your internet connection

Keep you safe from being online - Your free from being watched, protects your passwords and access log-ins, protects your online banking transactions, your browsing and surfing are not recorded on any logs scraper, you can work online at ease, no one can spy on you and all of the security features that you really wanted to be when using the internet.

Little bit of hassle - a little bit because, whenever you want to log-in in any social networking site or those sites that you where registed, you need to do some processes to reactivate your accounts to identify that your the legit owner of the said accounts. This will consumed minutes of your time before you can use those sites. But, there's a BUT, there is a solution for this;

Avoid using Free VPN, they may run by untrustworthy companies.

Register and activate on any VPN you would like to choose and do an extra layer of privacy using a pseudo-anonymous payment method such as Bitcoin or Liberty Reserve, and do a DNS Leak Test when using a VPN.

So if you ask me? I rather recommend to use VPN and don't mind this hassle as long as I am protected and secured everytime I'm online, because "Privacy is not a crime as long as you use it for GOOD" Use VPN to keep mobile devices protected in wi-fi free zone.

Here's the 'List of active VPN as of 2013' that you may consider to look for a review

1. Sandwich VPN
2. WiFree VPN
3. PdProxy VPN
3. Hotspot Shield VPN
4. HideMyAss VPN

Globe and smart internet free access using magic ip w/ list as of 2013 updates

Most of us, internet users are looking for a free access on internet for and sometimes we find ways to look for an answers and solutions even it takes a risk just to have it for free.

But what if we can have it for real? I mean we can access the internet using our Globe tattoo and Smart Broadband for free?

Actually for  those who really don't know about it, this has been already existed a long time ago since the ISP's started their internet operations.

Most internet users recognized this or called it as a hack for internet access but for my understanding, IT IS NOT, because it is not forcing to get into the system without permission; it's on the other-side's negligence or might be a lack of security firewalls (Not to offend) or they just let it open as backdoor tunnel for maybe on some technical purposes.

Actually, this is possible and not of course would last long enough or shall we say works 100% if the Magic IP's are BLOCKED.

Here is a sample that you can try on your own, with a little patience and tweaks:
Using Magic IP - Magic ip is a proxy that can bypass your Internet Service Providers or ISP security firewall, If you set those working ip in your internet web browser in which you can surf, browse, stream or even download on the internet for free without loading it.

If you want to try just follow this settings:

NOTE: If the IP's won't work, means it is already been blocked, but you can try your luck.

Connect Globe Tattoo Broadband Dashboard with the settings below:

Connection type: RAS
APN: http.globe.com.ph
ACCESS NUMBER: *99***1#
AUTH SETTINGS: CHAP

Connect Smart Broadband Dashboard with the settings below:

Connection type: RAS
APN: http.globe.com.ph
ACCESS NUMBER: *99#
AUTH SETTINGS: CHAP or PAP (Whatever you choose)
Now that your modem are all set, lets proceed for the rest of the settings:

Settings for web browsers:

For Google Chrome:Go to (Show Advanced Settings)
