The Samsung Galaxy S2 Impresses On Many Levels - Caribbean Media Vision
Samsung Galaxy S2 |
The Samsung Galaxy S2 is the latest flagship Android smartphone from Samsung, and has proven to be a massive success. The handset has a long and impressive spec list which includes the likes of an 8 megapixel camera, dual-core processor and large, high resolution touchscreen.
In this article I will take a closer look at some of the key features of the Galaxy S2 so you can decide if it is the right smartphone for you.
Camera
As mentioned, the Samsung Galaxy S2 has an 8 megapixel camera. This makes it a great camera phone, as the results are pleasing thanks to it resolution of 3264×2448. The camera comes with a number of additional features which make using the camera easy and improves the resulting images simultaneously. An LED flash is included as standard, meaning that good quality pictures can still be achieved in low lighting conditions. Video capture is one of the strengths of the phone’s camera, with the ability to record in full HD (1080p). Overall, the Samsung Galaxy S2 is a great camera phone. It has all the right specifications, but remains easy to use.
Processor
The Samsung Galaxy S2 was one of the first smartphones to come with a dual-core processor. At 1.2 GHz, it certainly makes for a speedy interface, and all this computing power benefits several aspects of the phone’s performance. Multitasking, the loading and opening times of applications, web browsing speeds and touchscreen responsiveness are all affected by the processor. The benefits of the powerful processor are noticeable when compared to a handset with less computing power and it makes for one of the main selling points of the Samsung Galaxy S2.
Screen
The Samsung Galaxy S2, like its predecessor the Galaxy S, is well known for having an impressive touchscreen. Measuring up at 4.3 inches, the Super AMOLED Plus capacitive touchscreen has a resolution of 480x 800. This makes for great quality image display, and whilst it may not be up to the standard of the retina display of the iPhone 4S or some newer Samsung smartphones, it is sure to impress the majority of users. The screen itself is manufactured from Gorilla glass, which is proven to withstand the occasional drop onto a hard surface, so if this is a familiar situation for you, the Samsung Galaxy S2 should be one to consider when choosing your next smartphone.
Aside from the features mentioned above, there is a lot to like about the Galaxy S2; it is one of the thinnest smartphone available, has the latest version of the Android OS, with downloadable apps from the Android Market, and has plenty of internal storage with both 16 and 32 GB versions being available (both with a microSD slot for further storage via a memory card).
Samsung has recently released a number of new models in its Galaxy Range including the Note and Nexus. This means that the Samsung Galaxy S2 is subject to some affordable deals, with many UK networks offering the handset for free on selected tariffs.
