a Filipino own Mobile Phones

What phones that are own by Filipino?
Pinoy Pride phones?
Mobile Phones of Philippines?
Philippines cellphone?

I have been ask once about what mobile phones that are own by a Filipino here in the Philippines?

Based on my knowledge and what I had learned, there are already 3 brands of Mobile phones that are successfully made it to the market which is owned by a Filipino company.

My|Phone - first and only Filipino mobile phone brand that offers dual SIM mobility like the mobile clone stuff. It is the first and leading Filipino mobile phone manufacturer in the Philippines, their first introduction of their units was good, I mean the quality of not being easy to damage that you can even throw it out in the window and soak it in the water but still it works like nothing happen.

CherryMobile - operated by Cosmic Technologies Incorporated, is a Filipino mobile phone and electronics company founded by Maynard Ngu in 2008, a priced-friendly mobile phones that is good for Filipinos. Their first released was impressive, good in quality and the price is very welcome to pocket of the pinoy.

and lately, Torque Mobile that is also own by a Filipino company.

These are the three (3) mobile phones that I've known so far that are own by the Filipino company.

Now that there are local companies that are already been manufacturing this mobile devices, there are no reasons that local users/consumers can’t afford to buy one.

What do I get from Installing ClockWorkMod on my Galaxy S3 and Rooting it?

Installing CWM or ClockWorkMod and Rooting it will allow you to have the privilege to install Custom ROMs in your mobile phone.

But by doing it, you must always remember that installing ClockWorkMod into your Samsung Galaxy S3 and rooting your device may lose your data and may void it’s warranty, so it is highly been advised that making a back-up is a great deal.

Preparations on installing the ClockWork Mod application:

·         Install the “android adb drivers”.
·         Download the Latest CWM Recovery Package and extract this into your PC (Note: don’t extract .tar file).
·         Download application Odin  (Odin-mirror download) and extract also into your PC.
·         Download CockWorkMod Manager
·         Download CWM SuperUser or download it from Google PLAY Store.
·         Install Samsung KIES and the USB Drivers in your computer to make sure the compatibility connection of your Samsung Galaxy S3 device and PC.
·         Charge your device into full or the minimum of 60% to avoid interruption while installing the ClockWorkMod application.
·         USB cable, preferably the original one in which it is well-matched to your PC and the Samsung Galaxy S3 (GT i9300)

Now if all things are ready and set to go, open the application Odin in your PC and enable the USB Debugging Mode from the path “Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging” on your Samsung Galaxy S3.

Steps for installing the CWM on Samsung Galaxy S3:
·
•    Turn off your device (mobile phone) and disconnect it from the your PC.
•    Press the “Volume down Key”, “Home button” hold both simultaneously and press the Power Button to enter the Download Mode.
•    Connect your Galaxy S3 to your PC by using of course the USB.
•    If ODIN application displays “Successful” under the message and the first “ID:COM” were highlighted in yellow color, your phone is successfully detected.
•    Now check Repartition is NOT ticked and auto reboot ticked and the other options must be leave as is.
•    Click on “PDA” tab on Odin and select the file named CF-SGS3-CWM-v5.5-v1.2.tar.
•    Once you already selected the file, click on “Start” to begin the installation process of Clock Work Mod Recovery. (This will only take a minute or depending on your PC speed).
•    Once done, disconnect your device on PC and wait for the Home Screen.
Now it’s done, you already installed the ClockWorkMod on your Samsung Galaxy S3.

Steps for Rooting the Samsung Galaxy S3:

•    If you follow the steps above on installing the CWM, you are ready to root your devices.
•    Turn off your phone or device and boot it into Recovery Mode by pressing the “Hold Volume Up Key”, “Home button” hold both simultaneously and press the “Power Button” to enter the Recovery Mode.

Globe Tattoo/Mobile Internet Tips, setting and Registration Guides

After a several months of experiencing the difficulty on accessing the internet in my hometown where local internet providers are no to avail and only broadband connection are the only way to obtain the net connections, I find it very sad because even the internet café’s where provided only by broadband connection and there is no DSL connection providers.

So to provide the ideal solution for this was to buy a broadband USB sticks (Globe Tattoo) and a new mobile phone that can easily access the internet.
To access the internet and to be online using Mobile Phone first thing that I did was to activate the GPRS but before that I had to know first my phone GPRS and MMS compatibility by using this code “text GO (handset model)” and sending it to 2951. For example on Nokia 95 just text GO N95 and if you want to know about your Mobile Phone GRPS and MMS compatibility settings just text “your handset model” to 2365.
Reminder:
For Nokia 6220, 6600, and 6820, text GO < handset model > 1234 and send to 2951. Make sure to type in the two commas before the 1234 PIN and if asked for PIN to save the settings just enter 1234.
And for accessing the internet by using the Globe Tattoo Broadband USB stick, there is no need for a setup unless you are creating a new one for connection e.g. Profile Name.
Now that I have an access to go online, I’ve found out on my calculation that it was less expensive and more savings to register on Globe Internet Surfing Promos than using the regular surfing.
Here’s my list of SuperSurf and PowerSurf promos for Globe Internet Surfing.

How to Register GLOBE PowerSurf Time Promo 2012
  • POWERSURF 15 – a 1 hour or 60 minutes of mobile internet: Text POWERSURF15 to 8888 cost: P 15.00 and this is valid for 1 day.
  • POWERSURF 30 – a 3 hours or 180 minutes of mobile internet : Text POWERSURF30 to  8888 cost: P 30.00 and this is valid for 1 day
  • POWERSURF 50 – a 5 hours or 300 minutes of mobile internet : Text POWERSURF50 to  8888 cost: P 50.00 and this is valid for 3 days
To check for PowerSurf Time status just Text POWERSURF STATUS to 8888 and maintain a balance of Php1 or 1 peso.
How to Register GLOBE PowerSurf MB Promo 2012
  • POWERSURF MB 15 – a 20MB or 20480 KB of consumable mobile internet: Text MB15 to 8888 cost: P 15.00 and this is valid for 1 day.
  • POWERSURF MB 30 – a 50MB of consumable mobile internet: Text MB30 to 8888    cost: P 30.00 and this is valid for 1 day.
  • POWERSURF MB 50 – a 100MB of consumable mobile internet: Text MB50 to 8888    cost: P 50.00 and this is valid for 3 days.
  • POWERSURF MB 99 – a 50MB of consumable mobile internet: Text MB99 to 8888    cost: P 99.00 and this is valid for 30 days.
  • POWERSURF MB 299 – a 300MB of consumable mobile internet: Text MB299 to 8888    cost: P 299.00 and this is valid for 30 days.
  • POWERSURF MB 499 – a 1Gig of consumable mobile internet: Text MB499 to 8888    cost: P 499.00 and this is valid for 30 days.
To check for PowerSurf MB status: Text PSURFMB STATUS to 8888 and maintain a balance of Php1 or 1 peso.
How to Register GLOBE Unlisurf/SuperSurf Promo 2012
  • SUPERSURF 50 - for 1 day unlimited surfing just Text SUPERSURF50 to 8888 and this will cost you a P 50.00.
  • SUPERSURF 120 - for 3 days unlimited surfing just Text SUPERSURF120 to 8888 and this will cost you a P 120.00.
  • SUPERSURF 200 - for 5 days unlimited surfing just Text SUPERSURF200 to 8888 and this will cost you a P 200.00.
SUPERSURF 999 - for 30 days unlimited surfing just: Text SUPERSURF999 to 8888 and this will cost you a P 999.00.
Based on experienced after using Globe SuperSurf and Powersurf for obtaining an internet in the places where network signals are very slow and some other places where network signals are boosting, I’ve found a great idea.
For a place where net signals are very slow I prefer to use POWERSURF MB and SUPERSURF, for a place where network signal are strong I do use the SUPERSURF because it is less expensive and while travelling I do preferred using POWERSURF MB than POWERSURF TIME.
Some may say that they get slower internet speed when they are using SuperSurf and PowerSurf than the regular internet surfing, but for me it is just the same so I better use the Globe Promos to save more money.

Internet Access in Bukidnon, Mindanao

As days goes by, while having a lots of time being here in Bukidnon, part of Mindanao, Philippines, my hometown and where internet access is hard to find especially if you are in need to go online. Well, the best way to gain access to the internet in Bukidnon is to be prepared first if you are planning to have time visiting here. The first thing I did was to brought my broadband USB sticks (e.g. Smart Bro "prepaid", Globe Tattoo "prepaid" and a mobile phone that can access internet) because it's hard to find a wi-fi hotspot zone, limited internet cafe's, a few only local internet providers. It's like your going to the jungle. If your going to look for internet access, I'm giving you some tips and hints. Malaybalay City, Bukidnon Internet access - you can find internet cafe's near the schools along the National Highway and near in Malaybalay Public Market. Valencia City, Bukidnon Internet access - you can find it near Laveña Avenue, Gaisano Mall, and near in schools. Maramag, Bukidnon Internet access - exit road from terminal going to Davao and Don Carlos near San Andres High School, near Bus Terminal and entrance road to market. Don Carlos, Bukidnon Internet access - near Loyola High School and Don Carlos Public Market. So far, this are the places in Bukidnon where I did have access on internet by going this internet cafe's and the rest of the Bukidnon sites I used my broadband USB sticks and mobile gadgets just to gain access to the internet. Please do comments if you have suggestions and feedbacks about having an Internet Access in Bukidnon, Mindanao.
